“WE ARE FAMILY” CAN BENEFIT FROM THE SCHOOL HOLIDAYS IN SINGAPORE & JANAMASHTMI IN INDIASeptember 3rd, 2010
So the school September Holidays are kicking in, while 2nd September is a holiday because of Janamashtmi in India, 3rd September too will be a holiday in quite a few parts of India due to Jummat-ul-wida, & on the 10th it will already be HARI RAYA ! Thus it would it would be an extended weekend for WE ARE FAMILY which will start from 2nd September, that is Thursday itself and this should indeed translate into some pretty good collections in the opening weekend for the film (of course in India) . This in turn would mean that the 25 crore budget film may just manage to cover a substantial part of it’s cost in the opening week itself. Finally, after a month of hardcore movie promo- September Movie Mania opens today with WE ARE FAMILY starring Kareena Kapoor , Kajol & Arjun Rampal. Though i refuse to devour on more dialogue promos on youtube or synopsis, do try to catch up on the Gloss & Gloss of the movie HERE. Alot of rave reviews from India are in , for the production house opened the movie earlier for UAE Viewers on the 2nd of September 2010. Malaika Arora Khan literally can set the screen on FIRE ! She is teaming up with Farah Khan, for her husband’s produced film- DABANGG! “We’ve all been practically living “Dabangg”. Although mine is just that one song in the film, I have to be there for Arbaaz,” shrugs the dutiful sounding wife. Her Masala Item Number is called Munni in Dabangg, and is continuosly making news. “It’s amazing how the song has become so popular,” she laughs, adding, “It’s silly when people ask me how was it dancing with my brother-in-law. Arre! It wasn’t a romantic number. It’s such a mast song… What’s wrong with dancing with him? We do that at home also, what’s strange about dancing together in a film? That too in a film by my husband?” wonders Malaika. And her brother-in-law also considers her to be the best item girl. Laughing out loud Malaika says, “That was just in answer to a question. Someone had asked Salman whom did he think was the best item girl, and he took Shilpa’s name and mine. But obviously, he’ll say I’m the best, won’t he?” she laughs again. When salman khan gave us a classic film like Veer or a no brainer action masala film like WANTED – we never took notice of Salman Khan. Not recently when his new “FAMILY PRODUCTION” house produce the film DABANGG! Now there are alot of surprises in this film package. We have a newbie on the film , a “sex” ( as we like to call her) producer dancing on the latest masala music till date & of course the trio brothers on a film together. We can’t get our eyes of the newbie Sonakshi Sinha – the daughter of veteran actor and politician Shatrughan Sinha and Punam Sinh.Dabangg opens on Eid September 10th 2010- This is the reason why WE ARE FAMILY was pushed forward to September 3
Even in the worst case scenario, Dabangg can’t do as bad as a ‘Mr. and Mrs. Khanna’, London Dreams and some other duds involving the star over last several years. But the likely odds are, with even a halfway decent script, Dabangg would be an outright blockbuster of India this year. And Salman Khan would have his biggest grosser and genuine hit since his heydays of the 1990s in India. This is so rare but we hope this film will do well for Salman Khan’s sake
